Job summary

Talents Tide is seeking a senior role to manage Sharia coordination and review, ensuring queries and complaints are addressed effectively and that recommended proposals align with ISSC guidance.

The role includes supervising Sharia review of contracts, manuals and banking systems, overseeing fatwas and translations, and coaching the team to meet KPIs while ensuring regulatory compliance across the department.

Qualifications

• University degree in economics, accounting, banking or finance with knowledge of Sharia
• University degree in Sharia with knowledge of economics, accounting, banking or finance
• Minimum 7–8 years in a relevant role within a Sharia department

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Sharia review of contracts, documents and customer complaints or queries.
• Present review findings and proposed structures to the ISSC for approval or guidance.
• Supervise the review of procedural manuals and accounting entries from a Sharia perspective, and help improve them in line with ISSC guidance.
• Supervise the review of banking systems from a Sharia perspective, and help improve them in line with ISSC guidance.
• Oversee Sharia research, the fatwa system and translation, following departmental policies and procedures.
• Oversee the communication of formal ISSC decisions and fatwas to the relevant departments, branches and employees.
• Run clarification calls with all concerned parties so they fully understand the ISSC's guidance on complex or non-standard matters.
• Coach and develop the team by identifying training needs and assigning suitable learning platforms.
• Review team performance and deliverables against approved KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with approved policies, procedures, SLAs and regulatory requirements, to maintain quality and reduce risk.
