Job summary

Nova International General Contracting, a UAE-based firm specializing in branded residences, seeks an experienced Utility Construction Supervisor to lead site activities in line with drawings, specifications, and Abu Dhabi standards.

You will supervise wet and dry utility works, review IFC drawings, coordinate with authorities and consultants, monitor resources, and ensure quality. A Civil Engineering degree and 8+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure and utility construction supervision.
• Strong knowledge of UAE and Abu Dhabi codes and authority requirements.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, and municipal authorities.
• Proven site supervision, coordination, and communication skills.

Job Description

Responsible for supervising and coordinating utility construction activities, ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, programme, quality requirements, applicable codes, and Abu Dhabi authority standards and requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervise subcontractors executing wet and dry utility works.
• Oversee installation of water, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, electrical, telecommunications, and associated utility networks (Wet & Dry).
• Review approved drawings, method statements, ITPs, and construction requirements.
• Coordinate utility works with the Consultant, authorities, and other project disciplines.
• Monitor subcontractor progress, manpower, materials, and resources.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, approvals, and authority requirements.
• Identify and resolve utility clashes and interface issues.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure NCRs and observations are closed.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, as-built documentation, and handover.
• Provide technical support and guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
• Ensure construction activities comply with applicable Abu Dhabi codes, regulations, standards, and authority requirements.
• Coordinate with relevant Abu Dhabi authorities and utility service providers for inspections, NOCs, approvals, connections, testing, and handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in infrastructure and utility construction supervision, preferably within major development or infrastructure projects.
• Strong practical experience in supervising wet and dry utility networks and associated infrastructure works.
• Good knowledge of applicable UAE and Abu Dhabi engineering codes, standards, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Familiarity with requirements and approval processes of relevant Abu Dhabi authorities and utility entities, including DMT/municipal requirements, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, DoE, ADDC/TAQA Distribution, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, Etisalat/e&, du, and other relevant authorities/service providers as applicable to the project.
• Ability to review and interpret IFC drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, shop drawings, and authority-approved documents.
• Strong understanding of utility coordination, interfaces, testing, commissioning, as-built documentation, and handover requirements.
• Experience working with Consultants, Contractors, Subcontractors, and Government/Utility Authorities.
• Strong site supervision, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills
