Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UAE seeks a PMC field inspector for metro station services, covering electrical and mechanical disciplines. You will support Site Engineers to ensure works meet drawings, ITPs, codes, and Employer’s Requirements across overground and underground stations in a dynamic project environment.

Responsibilities include daily surveillance, testing support, interface coordination, safety compliance, and detailed reporting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-8 years in E&M site inspection for metro projects.
• Experience with QA/QC checklists and design-build workflows.
• Previous metro/rail project experience is essential.
• Multi-disciplinary E&M inspection, documentation, and submittal review.

• Daily Site Surveillance & Checks for HVAC/ECS/TVS, fire protection, lifts, MV/LV, lighting, BMS/SCADA cabling; raise NCRs as needed.
• Witness tests, assist with FAT/SAT/IST, compile evidence for acceptance.
• Coordinate with civil works for access, penetrations, clearances; log interface issues.
• Monitor HSSE on site and NFPA 130 life safety features during installation.
• Prepare Daily Progress Reports, photo logs, inspection reports, punch lists, and track closures.

Overview

Act as PMC field inspector covering both electrical and mechanical for metro station services (common inspectors for E&M), supporting Site Engineers to ensure D&B contractor’s works meet approved drawings, ITPs, codes, and Employer’s Requirements—across overground and underground stations.

Your role

Daily Site Surveillance & Checks

• Conduct routine inspections on works performed by the contractor for HVAC/ECS/TVS, fire protection (hydrant, sprinkler, detection), water supply & drainage, lifts & escalators, MV/LV distribution, lighting & UPS, earthing/lightning protection, and BMS/SCADA cabling and terminations. Record observations; raise NCRs where applicable.

• Verify ITPs/WIRs compliance, material deliveries, storage/handling; maintain QA checklists and test records per PMC policy.

Testing & Commissioning Support

• Witness local tests (pressure tests, duct leakage, functional tests), assist with FAT/SAT/IST witnessing, and compile evidence for acceptance.

Interface & Coordination

• Coordinate with civil works for access/penetrations; check clearances and supports; report interface issues promptly to Site Engineers and log in ICD registers.

Safety & Compliance

• Monitor HSSE on site (hot works, elevated work, electrical safety); ensure adherence to NFPA 130 life safety features during installation (smoke control paths, emergency ventilation readiness).

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), photo logs, inspection reports; support measurements and bill verification; maintain punch lists and track closure.

About you

• Diploma/Bachelor in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

• 5-8 years in E&M site inspection for metro preferably in metro stations.

• Experience with QA/QC checklists and design build workflows.

• Previous experience working on metro/rail projects is essential.

• Multi disciplinary E&M inspection (mechanical + electrical), documentation, basic submittal review, coordination with contractors and PMC engineers.

• Reports to Station Mechanical/Electrical Site Engineers; escalates critical issues to Resident Engineer (MEP).
