Job summary

Airwallex in the UAE seeks a Finance Manager, UAE who will own finance for the UAE entity and serve as the primary contact with the Central Bank of the UAE. You’ll ensure accurate regulatory reporting, prudential requirements, and timely financial controls, shaping the UAE finance model as our market matures.

You will collaborate with Compliance, Treasury, Tax, FP&A and local management, leading the close, audits, and regulatory submissions while driving improvements in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• Professional finance qualification (CPA/ACCA/CA/CFA) or equivalent.
• 8+ years of finance experience in regulated environments.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and regulatory reporting experience in UAE.
• Direct experience with a financial regulator, ideally CBUAE.
• Experience in a financial controlling role and building finance capability.

Responsibilities

• Act as the designated finance contact with the CBUAE for all financial and prudential reporting and regulatory meetings.
• Own the preparation, review, and submission of CBUAE regulatory returns with Compliance input.
• Monitor and report regulatory capital, liquidity, and safeguarding of client funds with risk flags.
• Own UAE entity monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and P&L reviews for FP&A.
• Prepare financial performance, capital, and cash commentary for local boards and management.
• Lead the annual IFRS statutory audit and coordinate with external auditors.
• Oversee UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance with Tax team and advisors.
• Support UAE product launches in reporting and regulatory submissions.
• Drive process improvements and automation within UAE finance.
