Job summary

Qualifications

• Physical stamina required for lifting heavy bags in confined cargo holds.
• Ability to work outdoors in hot weather and noisy jet blasts.
• Strict adherence to aviation ground rules near active aircraft engines.

Responsibilities

• Stack passenger luggage securely inside the narrow belly of the aircraft to maintain balance.
• Guide the motorized belt machines safely up to the airplane cargo door using standard aviation ground hand signals.
• Remove transit bags from arriving flights quickly to protect passenger belongings.
• Check the wheels and steering of the luggage carts every morning before driving them toward the main terminal building.
