Job description
Day-to-Day Operations
Supervise and monitor the daily operation of all machinery on tugs to ensure efficient performance.
Report any faults or operational issues to the Foreman Tug Fleet/in Charge to prevent resource wastage and control costs.
Conduct regular major and minor maintenance and repair activities on tugs to ensure seamless service delivery.
Develop and manage an engine spare parts and machinery inventory, preparing and submitting material requests to the Foreman Tug Fleet/In-Charge as needed.
Perform routine PMS tasks, including filter cleaning/changing, engine oil replacement, and addressing water or oil leaks. Ensure general cleanliness of machinery spaces and compliance with DDW-D standards.
Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, foremen, supervisors, and management to foster a collaborative environment.
Participate in departmental training programs as required.
Inspect materials to ensure they meet quality standards and report any damages before use.
Work within assigned timelines to achieve department goals and maintain operational efficiency.
Uphold cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
Execute job-related tasks consistently to ensure operational continuity. Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
Education: Minimum 12th grade with Science. A degree is preferred.
Certification: STCW.3 (Engine) Restricted.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Tug Engineer in the port industry.
