Job summary

Global RE Overseas Ltd. in Dubai seeks an experienced Treaty Underwriter to assess proportional and non-proportional treaties across Property, Casualty, Engineering, Marine and Bonds/Surety lines.

You will price, quote, and negotiate terms with cedants and brokers, and monitor portfolio accumulation to align with underwriting appetite. Responsibilities include coordinating with claims, retrocession, legal, and accounting teams, maintaining underwriting records, and tracking market trends to

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of treaty underwriting experience in reinsurance or insurance.
• Strong understanding of proportional and non-proportional treaty structures.
• Experience underwriting Property, Casualty, Engineering, Marine, or Bonds/Surety.
• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Finance, or related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including pricing and exposure modelling.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and underwriting/pricing software.
• Professional qualification (e.g. ACII, CPCU) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate treaty submissions across Property Casualty Engineering Marine and Bonds Surety lines
• Analyse exposure data historical loss experience and proposed treaty structures to assess risk quality
• Price proportional and non-proportional treaties in line with underwriting appetite and guidelines
• Prepare quotes terms and slips for cedants and brokers and negotiate terms and conditions
• Monitor accumulation aggregation and portfolio concentration across bound treaties
• Coordinate with claims retrocession legal and accounting teams on wording obligations and reporting
• Maintain accurate underwriting files records and renewal documentation
• Track market conditions competitor activity and industry trends to inform underwriting decisions
