ALBURJ Engineering Consultants seeks an experienced Transport Modeller in Abu Dhabi to lead STEAM modelling using CUBE Voyager for TMP, CTMP and DST studies. Responsibilities include coding inputs, running multiple ITC scenarios, and producing high-quality reports for authorities.

You will work with GIS data (ArcGIS/QGIS), SIDRA, Synchro and HCS, and engage directly with clients to ensure deliverables meet scrutiny and ITC requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 5–8 years transport modelling experience with hands-on CUBE.
• Working knowledge of STEAM and the ITC TIS/TMP process (ADG-039).
• SIDRA, Synchro and HCS experience.
• GIS skills (ArcGIS or QGIS) with GDB/DBF data handling.
• Clear written and spoken English; client-facing confidence.

Responsabilités

• Deliver STEAM modelling in CUBE Voyager for TMP/CTMP/DST studies from ITC access to the MMR to the MFR.
• Code model inputs: road network, zones (TAZ), land use, junctions and public transport; work with GDB/DBF data.
• Run Reference, Without, With and With Mitigation scenarios for 2030/2040, AM/PM.
• Extract link V/C, junction turning flows and demand-difference plots from outputs.
• For TIS projects, use MOR flows and distribute development trips manually.
• Prepare trip generation and parking demand using Abu Dhabi manuals.
• Carry out junction analysis in SIDRA, Synchro and HCS; perform manual checks.
• Check inputs/outputs and cross-check totals; report with polished visuals.
• Prepare technical reports to a presentation-ready standard.

• Deliver STEAM modelling in CUBE Voyager for TMP, CTMP and DST studies, from the ITC model access request through the Model Methodology Report (MMR) to the Model Final Report (MFR).
• Code the model inputs: road network, zones (TAZ), land use, junctions and public transport. Work with GDB and DBF files, and code junctions so they match the real road layout.
• Run Reference, Without, With and With Mitigation scenarios for 2030 and 2040, AM and PM, on the ITC modelling machines.
• Extract select-link, select-zone and select-turn outputs, and turn them into link V/C, junction turning flows and demand-difference plots.
• For TIS projects, use ITC-issued MOR background flows and distribute development trips manually.
• Prepare trip generation and parking demand using the Abu Dhabi Trip Generation and Parking Rates Manual.
• Carry out junction analysis in SIDRA, Synchro and HCS, manual link V/C checks, and access queue checks.
• Check model inputs and outputs carefully, and cross-check totals before anything is reported.
• Prepare technical reports to a polished, presentation-ready standard, with clear tables, figures and maps.
• Lead projects independently, from methodology to ITC approval.
• Coordinate directly with clients on inputs, progress and results.
• Attend and present at client meetings and ITC meetings, including methodology meetings, and respond to ITC comments until approval.

Qualifications & experience

• Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering; Master's preferred.
• 5 to 8 years of transport modelling experience, including recent hands-on CUBE.
• Working knowledge of STEAM and the ITC TIS/TMP process (ADG-039).
• SIDRA, Synchro and HCS.
• GIS skills (ArcGIS or QGIS), with confident handling of GDB and DBF data.
• Clear written and spoken English, with confidence in front of clients and authorities.

Nice to have

• ITC-approved STEAM modeller.
• VISSIM or Aimsun micro-simulation.
• Python or VBA to automate model and data tasks.
