Job summary

Hudson IT and Manpower in the UAE is seeking an experienced Competent Person (CP) with strong Transmission Line project exposure to oversee safe and compliant site execution. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Transmission Line projects.
• Strong knowledge of transmission line construction and site activities.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements, permits, risk assessments, and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Competent Person (CP) for transmission line construction and site activities.
• Supervise and monitor transmission line construction, installation, erection, testing, and related activities.
• Ensure works comply with approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and project requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and identify unsafe conditions, hazards, and risks.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, client standards, HSE requirements, and project procedures.
• Review and verify work permits, risk assessments, method statements, and job safety requirements.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, and client teams to resolve technical and site issues.
• Monitor lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing, conductor installation, and other TL activities.
• Ensure safety controls near energized systems and utilities are properly implemented.
• Verify personnel, tools, equipment, and work methods meet project requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks and provide technical/safety guidance to site personnel.
• Report incidents, near misses, unsafe acts/conditions, and support corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, permits, and CP documentation.
• Liaise with client/consultant to ensure compliance with specific requirements.
• Stop or suspend unsafe work and implement corrective measures.
