Job summary

Casa Tera in Dubai seeks a Tower Crane Operator with a minimum of 2 years UAE experience to manage lifting operations on site. You will operate the crane safely, follow approved lifting procedures, and ensure loads are within rated capacity.

You will perform daily pre-operation inspections, coordinate with the Lifting Supervisor and signalers, monitor weather conditions, keep detailed logs, and support routine maintenance while upholding HSE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate the tower crane safely and efficiently in accordance with the operating manual and lifting procedures.
• Lift, transport and position materials to designated locations on site.
• Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of brakes, hoist, trolley, slewing, limit switches, ropes, hooks and safety devices.
• Verify crane is in safe condition before operations and report defects.
• Ensure all lifting operations stay within rated load capacity and load charts.
• Coordinate with Lifting Supervisor, Signalman and Riggers using approved signals.
• Monitor weather, wind speed, and suspend operations if unsafe.
• Record logs, inspections and maintenance observations daily.
• Fill crane cabin and controls area clean and in good condition.
• Assist maintenance during servicing, inspections and testing.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents or failures immediately.
• Follow project safety rules, emergency procedures and permit-to-work requirements.

Work Description:

• Operate the tower crane safely and efficiently in accordance with the manufacturer's operating manual and approved lifting procedures.
• Lift, transport, and position construction materials, equipment, and prefabricated components to designated locations on site.
• Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of the tower crane, including brakes, hoist, trolley, slewing mechanism, limit switches, wire ropes, hooks, and safety devices.
• Verify that the crane is in safe working condition before commencing operations and report any defects or malfunctions immediately.
• Ensure all lifting operations are carried out within the crane's rated load capacity and approved load charts.
• Coordinate with the appointed Lifting Supervisor, Signalman, and Riggers using approved communication methods and hand signals.
• Monitor weather conditions, particularly wind speed, and suspend crane operations when conditions exceed safe operating limits.
• Ensure lifting operations comply with the approved lifting plan, method statement, and applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Maintain full awareness of surrounding activities to prevent collisions with adjacent structures, equipment, overhead utilities, and other cranes.
• Record daily crane operation logs, inspections, and maintenance observations.
• Keep the crane cabin, controls, and operating area clean and in good condition.
• Assist maintenance personnel during routine servicing, inspections, and statutory testing of the crane.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, or equipment failures to the Lifting Supervisor or Site Management immediately.
• Follow all project safety rules, emergency procedures, and permit-to-work requirements.
