Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in midwifery or related field.
• Valid BLS, NRP and/or PROMPT certifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care for women and neonates with the multi-professional team per clinical standards and laws.
• Ensure patient safety by identifying and managing risks per risk policies and legislation.
• Facilitate positive patient and family experiences under nursing leadership guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of nursing interventions per standards and law.
• Support learning by supervising and mentoring learners and staff.
• Utilise stock and equipment efficiently per Mediclinic guidelines.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide and coordinate patient-centric and evidence based midwifery care by ensuring compliance to ethical and professional standards set by regulatory authorities and the company

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• To deliver quality care to antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum women and neonates in collaboration with the multi professional team according to set clinical standards and relevant legislation
• Ensure patient safety by identifying, preventing and managing risks in accordance with clinical risk policies, procedures and relevant legislation
• To facilitate positive patient and family experiences by creating a conducive environment as guided by nursing leadership
• To provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions according to company standard and legal requirements
• To create and contribute to a learning environment that builds employee competence by actively supervising, mentoring and coaching learners and nursing employees
• To utilise all required stock and equipment efficiently, according to Mediclinic guidelines

Required Education

• Relevant Bachelor's degree
• valid BLS, NRP and/or PROMPT

Required Experience

• At least two years in own country
