Job summary

Mediclinic Parkview Hospital in Dubai seeks an audiologist to assess hearing and balance disorders, provide diagnostic and rehabilitative services, and guide patients and families. The role includes newborn and adult hearing screening, cochlear implant candidacy, and vestibular rehabilitation support.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Audiology, with a vestibular certification and at least 2 years of clinical experience, and demonstrates excellent English communication and client service

Qualifications

• Master's degree in audiology (or Master in Audiology and speech-language pathology) from an accredited university.
• Certified vestibular provider or vestibular assessment/rehabilitation courses from an accredited institution.
• At least 2 years post-graduate experience in a clinical setting.
• Verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Exceptional client service skills and sound client service experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and interpret behavioural, electroacoustic, or electro-physiologic tests to assess hearing and balance.
• Measure and interpret neurophysiologic tests for intraoperative monitoring as needed.
• Assess candidacy for cochlear implants and provide fitting and rehabilitation.
• Assess candidacy for hearing aids and provide counselling and programming.
• Conduct newborn and age-appropriate hearing screening.
• Provide audiology rehabilitation, speech reading, language development, and vestibular rehabilitation.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Assess patients with audiometric screening, diagnostic, and rehabilitative audiology services for hearing loss and balance disorders

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Conduct and interpret behavioural, electroacoustic, or electro-physiologic methods used to assess hearing, balance, and neural system function and prepare a written report
• Measure and interpret sensory and motor-evoked potentials; use and interpret results of electromyography, and other electro-diagnostic tests for purposes of neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring
• Assess the candidacy of persons with hearing loss for cochlear implants/ other implantable devices and provide fitting, programming, and audiology rehabilitation to optimise device use
• Assess candidacy for hearing aids, fitting and programming of hearing aids, other assistive listening devices, and provide counselling and guidance to patients and their families
• Conduct newborn hearing screening and hearing screening for children and adults
• Provide audiology rehabilitation services including speech reading, communication management, language development, and auditory skill development and counselling for psychosocial adjustment to hearing loss for persons with hearing loss and their families/caregivers; perform vestibular rehabilitation by manoeuvres and VRT

Required Education

Master’s degree in audiology or Master in Audiology and speech-language pathology from an accredited university

Certified vestibular provider or Courses in vestibular assessment and rehabilitation from an accredited institution

Required Experience

At least 2 years post graduate experience in a clinical setting
