Job summary

Mediclinic Parkview Hospital in Dubai is seeking an experienced audiologist to assess and rehabilitate patients with hearing and balance disorders. You will conduct behavioural, electrophysiological, and vestibular assessments, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports.

Responsibilities include newborn and adult screening, fitting and programming hearing aids and implants, audiology rehabilitation, and family counselling.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in audiology from an accredited university.
• Certified vestibular provider or vestibular assessment & rehabilitation training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioural, electroacoustic, or electro-physiologic hearing and balance assessments and prepare written reports.
• Interpret sensory and motor-evoked potentials and other electro-diagnostic tests for intraoperative monitoring relevance.
• Assess candidacy for cochlear implants and other implantable devices; assist with fitting and rehabilitation.
• Assess candidacy for hearing aids and other assistive listening devices; counsel patients and families.
• Conduct newborn and adult hearing screening; provide audiology rehabilitation, including vestibular rehabilitation by manoeuvres and VRT.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Assess patients with audiometric screening, diagnostic, and rehabilitative audiology services for hearing loss and balance disorders

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Conduct and interpret behavioural, electroacoustic, or electro-physiologic methods used to assess hearing, balance, and neural system function and prepare a written report
• Measure and interpret sensory and motor-evoked potentials; use and interpret results of electromyography, and other electro-diagnostic tests for purposes of neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring
• Assess the candidacy of persons with hearing loss for cochlear implants/ other implantable devices and provide fitting, programming, and audiology rehabilitation to optimise device use
• Assess candidacy for hearing aids, fitting and programming of hearing aids, other assistive listening devices, and provide counselling and guidance to patients and their families
• Conduct newborn hearing screening and hearing screening for children and adults
• Provide audiology rehabilitation services- including speech reading, communication management, language development, and auditory skill development and counselling for psychosocial adjustment to hearing loss for persons with hearing loss and their families/caregivers; perform vestibular rehabilitation by manoeuvres and VRT

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Master's degree in audiology or Master in Audiology and speech-language pathology from an accredited university
• Certified vestibular provider or Courses in vestibular assessment and rehabilitation from an accredited institution

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

At least 2 years post graduate experience in a clinical setting

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Exceptional client service skills and sound client service experience
