Job summary

PowerTech in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Thermal System Design Engineer to drive gas turbine component thermal analysis, secondary air and oil system design within turbojet and turbofan development programs. You should have a strong background in heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, plus fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering degree or related field.
• Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience: 5-15 years or more.

Responsibilities

• Carry out component thermal analysis simulations for engine thermal mapping.
• Assess steady and transient thermal and secondary flows in turbine components.
• Size and design oil/lubrication system, seals, sump, bearings and pumps.
• Develop numerical and experimental methods for verification/validation.
• Support team, mentor junior engineers and provide feedback.
• Review designs, simulations and testing guidelines.
• Identify project risks and plan mitigations.
