Job summary

Loops Automation LLC in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Testing Commissioning Engineer to design, test and commission protection and control systems at HV substations (33/132/220 kV). You will select and parameterize BCPUs and IEDs, and oversee HV interlocking schemes, CT/PT circuits and cabling.

You should be proficient with relay testing equipment such as OMICRON and ISA, and familiar with SCMS HMI/SCADA software, IEC protocols, and site supervision and SAT activities in GCC environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in design testing and commissioning of protection and control systems.
• Familiar with HV substations (33/132/220 kV) and interlocking schemes.
• Knowledge of relay testing equipment and field testing practices.
• GCC experience is a plus.

SCOPE

Brief Description Of Overall Responsibility

The Testing Commissioning Engineer shall be responsible for design testing commissioning of protection and control systems at HV stations 33 132 and 220 kV. The PC engineer shall be responsible for the selection and parameterization of BCPUs, Protection and control of the SCMS systems as well as other IEDs. He shall be competent with HV interlocking schemes AC and DC schematics and modifications including CT PT circuits and cabling. He shall be familiar in use of relay testing equipment OMICRON and ISA.

The Main Job Activities

• Preparation of modifications of AC and DC schematics and interlocking schemes


• Select and size various IEDs including BCPUs


• Familiar with various substation communication IEC IEC 6150 and IEC 6070-5-101 104 protocols


• Using testing equipment e g OMICRON and ISA


• Familiar with SCMS HMI and SCADA software


• Capable of testing individual components and overall integrated systems


• Attending site services for installation supervision commissioning and site acceptance test


• GCC Competency (especially TAQA in Abu Dhabi)


• Familiar with various SCMS and protection relay protocols


• Familiar with Telecommunication Systems and components such as SDH and PDH Multiplexers and radio communication and modems
