Job summary

DAR ENGINEERING in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a skilled Tender Engineer to prepare technical and commercial proposals for electrical panels and switchgear while reviewing customer requirements and ensuring compliance with project standards.

You will estimate costs, create Bills of Materials, coordinate with procurement and suppliers, and support the sales team with technical inputs through bid clarifications and post-award handover to project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4–6 years of experience in tendering and estimations.
• Experience with cost estimation, BOM preparation, and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for LV switchgear, MCCs, PCCs, distribution boards, capacitor banks, VFD panels, synchronization panels, and control panels.
• Prepare compliance statements, technical deviations, and clarifications based on project requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and Bills of Materials for tendering and estimation purposes.
• Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to obtain vendor quotations.
• Review standards and ensure proposals comply with customer requirements and applicable standards.
• Support sales with technical inputs and participate in bid clarification meetings.

Job Purpose

Prepare technical and commercial proposals for electrical panels and switchgear products by reviewing customer requirements, preparing cost estimates, selecting suitable components, ensuring technical compliance, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to support competitive and accurate tender submissions.

Key Accountability Areas

Tender & Proposal Preparation

• Review RFQs, ITTs, EPC inquiries, customer specifications, and tender documents.
• Analyze technical documents such as single line diagrams, load lists, datasheets, electrical specifications, and project standards.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for LV switchgear, MCCs, PCCs, distribution boards, capacitor banks, VFD panels, synchronization panels, and control panels.
• Prepare compliance statements, technical deviations, and clarifications based on project requirements.Ensure proposals are accurate, complete, and submitted within the required timeline.

Cost Estimation & BOMPreparation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates based on technical requirements and approved pricing inputs.
• Select suitable products, components, and materials from approved manufacturers.Prepare Bills of Materials for tendering and estimation purposes.
• Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to obtain vendor quotations when required.
• Review vendor offers technically and commercially to support accurate cost preparation.Optimize proposals to achieve competitive pricing without compromising compliance or quality.

Technical Review & Compliance

• Review applicable customer, consultant, utility, and international standards.
• Verify technical requirements such as fault level, busbar rating, IP rating, form of separation, protection philosophy, and panel configuration.
• Ensure proposed solutions comply with project specifications, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
• Identify technical risks, gaps, or unclear requirements and raise clarifications when needed.
• Participate in technical discussions and bid clarification meetings when required.

Coordination & Stakeholder Support

1. Coordinate with sales, design, procurement, vendors, clients, and consultants during the tendering process.
2. Support the sales team with technical inputs, clarifications, and proposal-related requirements.
3. Coordinate with design and engineering teams to confirm feasibility of proposed solutions.
4. Support post-award handover to project engineering and execution teams.
5. Follow up with concerned departments to resolve tender-related technical or commercial issues.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain tender records, estimation files, technical documents, and pricing references.
• Update costing templates, standard BOMs, and estimation databases when required.
• Prepare bid status updates, tender summaries, and management reports.Ensure all tendering documents are properly organized and maintained for future reference.
