We are looking for a hands‑on Telematics Installation Engineer to install, commission and maintain tracking solutions on operational equipment. Our deployments are on industrial and airside assets, not on-road commercial vehicles.
Typical assets include ground support equipment (tugs, belt loaders, pushback tractors), port equipment (reach stackers, straddle carriers, terminal tractors, trailers, cranes) and warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet movers, roll cages and other non-powered assets). These assets run in harsh, high-vibration and restricted-access environments, so installations must be robust, safe and compliant with site rules.
Key responsibilities
- Site surveys and installation planning
- Conduct site and asset surveys to assess equipment types, mounting points, power availability and connectivity.
- Recommend device placement, mounting method, cabling route and power connection for each asset type.
- Prepare installation plans, bills of materials and tooling requirements before mobilization.
- Installation and commissioning
- Install telematics and tracking devices on equipment, including wiring to vehicle power, ignition and CAN bus/J1939 or sensor inputs where required.
- Install and configure gateways, readers, antennas and supporting infrastructure.
- Configure devices, verify data on the platform (location, ignition, hours, sensors) and complete acceptance testing.
- Ensure installations do not affect equipment warranty, safety systems or normal operation.
Maintenance, troubleshooting and support
- Diagnose and fix hardware, wiring, power and connectivity faults on site and remotely.
- Carry out preventive maintenance, device swaps, battery replacements and firmware updates.
- Escalate product issues to the engineering team with clear evidence and logs.
Supervision and coordination
- Supervise and train outsourced installation technicians | partner’s & client’s installation team and ensure work quality.
- Coordinate installation windows with customer operations, maintenance teams and equipment OEMs to minimize asset downtime.
Documentation and asset records
- Maintain digital installation documentations.
- Prepare installation reports, job sheets and handover documents.
- Track device and spares inventory across sites.
Health, safety and site compliance
- Follow airport, port and warehouse safety, security and HSE rules, including permits to work and airside or terminal access procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE and follow lock-out/tag-out and electrical safety practices.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, Automobile or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Preferred
- Certification in automotive or heavy-equipment electrical systems.
- Training in IoT, RF or networking or vendor device certifications.
- Valid HSE or safety training, such as working at height, electrical safety or first aid.
- Airside or port safety and security awareness training.
Experience
- 3–6 years of hands‑on experience installing telematics, GPS trackers, IoT devices or auto‑electrical systems.
- Experience working on heavy equipment, industrial vehicles or specialized machinery.
- Experience testing and commissioning devices against a cloud platform or dashboard.
Desired Candidate Profile
Preferred
- Installation experience on airport ground support equipment, port and terminal equipment, or material-handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Experience working airside at an airport or inside port terminals.
- Exposure to BLE, RFID or LoRaWAN technologies.
- Experience supervising installation teams or subcontractors.
Skills and competencies

- Proficiency in English; other languages are an advantage.
- Ability to work independently on remote sites and to manage time under tight installation windows.
- Customer-facing professionalism when working with operators and maintenance teams.

- A valid passport, with no restrictions on international travel.
- Willingness to work in shifts, at night and on weekends to fit customer operating windows.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot and humid conditions and in physically demanding environments.
