Job summary

Weatherford International Oil Field Services in Abu Dhabi seeks a Technical Support Engineer for Well Services. You will provide technical and operational support, plan and validate equipment, and coordinate well intervention activities from inquiry to handover.

You will work with Operations, Field Engineering, Repair & Maintenance, and global technical teams to ensure readiness, compliance with procedures, and successful service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of oilfield experience in Thru-Tubing or Well Intervention.
• IWCF/IADC Well Intervention Pressure Control certification preferred; candidates actively working toward certification are acceptable.
• Clear written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate well intervention activities from customer enquiry through job preparation mobilization and handover.
• Develop and review technical proposals, bottom-hole assembly designs, equipment lists, operating procedures, risk assessments and contingency plans.
• Validate equipment compatibility, application feasibility and operating limits with engineering approval for non-standard applications.
• Liaise with customers, Operations, Field Engineering, R&M and global technical teams to address requirements.
• Coordinate equipment readiness, personnel availability, logistics, certification and customer approvals before dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with approved procedures, Weatherford OEPS, API Q2 requirements and customer standards.
• Support cost optimization initiatives and ensure accurate invoicing documentation.
• Maintain job trackers and controlled documentation.
• Support investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Overview

The Technical Support Engineer provides technical and operational support for the Well Services product line ensuring effective planning engineering validation equipment preparation and execution of well intervention activities. The role coordinates well intervention jobs from initial customer enquiries and technical assessments through job preparation mobilization and operational handover. It works closely with customers Operations Field Engineering Repair amp Maintenance R amp M and global technical teams to ensure equipment compatibility operational readiness compliance with approved procedures and successful service delivery.

Skills

• Practical knowledge of fishing milling packers plugs wellbore isolation and completion intervention
• Familiarity with coiled tubing slickline electric line and drill pipe conveyance systems
• Ability to interpret well programs and completion schematics assess downhole equipment compatibility and coordinate engineering calculations
• Understanding of pressure and temperature limits sour service requirements and deployment constraints
• Working knowledge of API Q2 risk assessments Management of Change MOC and service quality systems
• Effective customer communication and cross-functional coordination
• Commercial awareness including cost optimization and invoicing documentation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within demanding operational timelines
