Technical Product Owner - Revenue accounts and payments, is an expert who understand the business capabilities and technologies used for Airline Revenue Accounts and digital payments, how they can bring value to an organisation and engage business in the ideation, exploration and adoption of the technology whilst evolving the product capabilities with the evolutions in relevant techno‑functional advances within the product strategy and roadmaps.

As a TPO you will own the product lifecycle for Airlines Revenue Accounts and digital payments from discovery through to production and monitoring; establish the product strategy and governance for the products and experiences designed upon them both with internal teams and external partners.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for the story content, acceptance criteria definition, and end story sign‑off across team backlogs, ensuring prepared on time for future PI’s, refined frequently with the entire team, and prioritised accordingly in alignment with other team backlogs.
  • Ensure Technical Debt and Non‑functional requirements are captured, refined, and prioritised across all sprints.
  • Capture additional BAU, Ceremony, and Spike activities, and incorporates them into team backlogs, within the boundaries of available capacity.
  • Prepare contribution to PI demo, in conjunction with other applicable Product Owners.
  • Maintain the quality and integrity of features within their technical and team boundaries, ensuring the identification and contribution of risks and dependencies back to the Product Portfolio backlog.
  • Attend and contribute to key Product Management meetings, in particular, PI Planning.
  • Define metrics to measure the success and performance of prioritised work, ensuring any further BAU iterations can be proposed and prioritised accordingly within the boundaries of available capacity.
  • Participate in establishing and growing a community of Product Owners, building an identity for the role, focusing on collaboration, and identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Contribute to the Product Management Communities and their continual evolution to help drive efficient practices and empowered teams.
  • Working with your team(s) to identify and capture team‑driven innovation ideas, consolidating across peer groups for playback up to TPM (Technical Product Manager) community.
Qualifications

To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (12 + 3 years or equivalent) in Operations Research, Marketing Science, Information Systems, or a related field — alternatively, a combination of industry certifications and 5+ years of relevant experience in Global Product Management. Must be trained and certified in CSPO, SAFe, or PSPO.
  • 5+ years practical experience of working as a Product Owner/Manager, in a team‑facing capacity, with proven record of driving discernible change and delivery at pace.
  • Thorough knowledge of Airline, Aviation industry and Travel & Tourism covering:
  • Airline Retailing.
  • Airline Revenue recognition, revenue accounting, billing and settlement for passenger and cargo.
  • Travel Agency accounting and reporting.
  • Well versed in overall accounting procedures, Order to Cash, financial reporting and best practices.
  • Knowledge of credit card payments, transaction handling, billing and settlement processes in Airline industry.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, industry and IATA compliance mandates for Airline revenue accounting.
  • Awareness of New Distribution Capability & One order initiatives from IATA and its adoption in Airline revenue accounting space.
  • Added advantage to possess knowledge of 'Procure to Pay' processes and accounting procedures.
  • Well‑versed with the tools for the product management aspects of software delivery.
  • Strong and concise communicator at peer, line, and stakeholder levels.
  • Build strong relationships with peers and team members.
