Job summary

The Emirates Group in Dubai seeks an experienced cloud engineer to support deployment, integration, and operation across multi-cloud and on-prem environments. You will drive capacity management, availability, and IT service continuity while guiding teams on best practices for security and automation.

You will develop and integrate APIs, back-end services and web apps using Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React and Node.js, with containerization via Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Degree or honours in a relevant field (12+3 or equivalent).
• 5+ years in a related IT engineering role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy solutions and ensure seamless integration.
• Provide technical input to assist with Capacity Management, IT Service Continuity and Availability.
• Identify areas of improvement within the relevant technology area and assist with service improvement programmes.
• Ensure incidents are resolved within SLA and provide workarounds to minimise business impact.
• Provide technical troubleshooting support within the technology area.
• Ensure problems are defined and analysed per the Problem Management Process.
• Ensure solutions meet architectural and security standards and minimise business impact.
• Provide technical consultancy and guidance to teams and act as a technical member of project teams delivering work packages.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the deployment of solutions and ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency
• Provide technical input to assist with Capacity Management, IT Service Continuity and Availability
• Identify areas of improvement within the relevant technology area and assist with the implementation of appropriate service improvement programmes initiated to improve service levels by increasing capacity, availability and IT Service Continuity
• Ensure that assigned incidents are resolved within the agreed Service Levels and, where applicable, workarounds are provided to minimise business impact
• Provide technical troubleshooting support within the assigned technology area
• Ensure that assigned problems are defined and analysed in line with the Problem Management Process
• Ensure that solutions to problems meet the architectural and security standards within the technology area and that impact on the business is minimised
• Provide technical consultancy and guidance to teams working within the technology area and act as a technical member of project teams delivering the assigned work packages

Qualifications

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years working in a related IT Engineering

Knowledge & Skills

• Good hands-on experience managing and supporting public cloud environments.
• Understanding of cloud concepts and best practices, including security, governance and cost awareness.
• Experience with cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, serverless and container services.
• Development experience using technologies such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript and APIs, React, Node.js or equivalent.
• Experience developing or integrating APIs, backend services and web applications.
• Understanding of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Python, Bash and/or PowerShell.
• Experience with Git, DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, observability and basic application/cloud troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting cloud workload onboarding, automation and self-service capabilities.
• Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Cloud certification or relevant technical certification is desirable, such as Associate-level cloud, DevOps or developer certification.
• Exposure to AI/GenAI, AI agents or MCP integrations would be advantageous.
