About the Role
The Technical Fashion Designer plays a key role in transforming creative concepts into perfectly executed couture garments. This role bridges the creative and production teams, ensuring that every design is accurately developed, sampled, and produced according to the brand’s standards of craftsmanship, fit, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development: Translate creative sketches and inspirations into detailed technical designs, patterns, and garment construction plans.
- Technical Sheets: Create detailed technical packs including measurements, fabrics, trims, embroidery placements, and finishing details.
- Sample Coordination: Work closely with tailors, cutters, and drapers to ensure prototypes and samples are executed correctly and delivered on time.
- Production Follow-up: Supervise production stages from cutting to finishing, ensuring each piece meets design specifications and brand quality.
- Fittings & Adjustments: Conduct fittings with the designer and atelier team, noting necessary alterations and communicating them to tailors precisely.
- Quality Control: Inspect samples and production pieces for accuracy, craftsmanship, and finishing before client delivery or photoshoots.
- Communication: Act as the technical link between design, atelier, and production management to maintain workflow efficiency and consistency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in haute couture or luxury fashion production.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern‑making, and finishing.
- Skilled in illustrating designs and technical specifications (manual or digital).
- Excellent understanding of fabrics, embroidery, and embellishment techniques.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and proactive with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Fluent in English; Arabic or French is a plus.
