Job summary

Advario is seeking a junior mechanical technician to support safe and reliable terminal operations in Dubai. You will assist with preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, valves, piping, and loading arms under guidance from experienced technicians and engineers.

The role offers hands-on development of practical mechanical maintenance skills, with progressive responsibilities based on competence and performance, in a busy terminal environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Fresh graduates and apprentices encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment and workshop tools.
• Exposure to pumps, valves, piping, or rotating and static equipment is a plus.
• Previous experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, industrial maintenance, or storage terminals is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, valves, piping, loading arms and other terminal mechanical assets.
• Support equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and reinstatement under supervision.
• Follow approved maintenance procedures, PTW, isolation requirements, and HSSE standards.
• Assist in preparing tools, spare parts, materials and equipment for maintenance activities.
• Record inspection findings, defects, maintenance activities, spare parts used, and test results.
• Support maintenance planning with accurate work progress and completion information.
• Assist in preparing maintenance work instructions and JSAs for review and approval.
• Maintain good housekeeping and care of workshop equipment and tools.
• Participate in technical training, competency assessments, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement.

Job Purpose

Support the safe and reliable operation of the terminal by assisting with preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of mechanical equipment.

This position provides an opportunity for a junior technician to develop practical mechanical maintenance skills under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers, with progressive responsibilities based on demonstrated competence and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, valves, piping systems, loading arms, firefighting equipment, and other terminal mechanical assets.
• Support equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and reinstatement under technical supervision.
• Follow approved maintenance procedures, work instructions, Permit to Work (PTW), isolation requirements, and HSSE standards.
• Assist in preparing tools, spare parts, materials, and equipment required for maintenance activities.
• Record inspection findings, equipment defects, maintenance activities, spare parts used, and test results.
• Support maintenance planning activities by providing accurate work progress and completion information.
• Assist in preparing maintenance work instructions and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for review and approval.
• Maintain good housekeeping and proper care of workshop equipment and tools.
• Participate in technical training, competency assessments, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related mechanical discipline.
• Fresh graduates and candidates with apprenticeship or industrial training experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment, maintenance practices, and workshop tools.
• Exposure to pumps, valves, piping, or rotating and static equipment is an advantage.
• Previous experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, industrial maintenance, or storage terminals is desirable
• Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn maintenance management systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
