Job summary

Commercial Bank of Dubai in Dubai is seeking an experienced Trade Finance Operations Lead to oversee disbursal, lien perfection, and registration-related tasks across asset products. You will manage end-to-end trade finance processes, ensuring efficiency, security, and adherence to procedures and service standards.

The role requires 8–10 years in banking with at least 5 years in a team lead capacity, plus a CDCS certification.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years work experience in a Bank with at least 5 years in a team lead role.
• CDCS Certification is preferred.
• Degree in Business Management, Services or related Commercial discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with offshore team to ensure seamless functioning of Trade Finance Operations.
• Interact with multiple teams including Institutional/Corporate, Service Delivery, Branch RMs and Islamic Trade teams.
• Review and approve high value trade transactions (Imports LC, Document checking, Back-to-Back LCs, Loans under TR).
• Coordinate with IT, FI, FC and Treasury to resolve Imports processing issues.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies and local/international regulations.
• Daily balancing of GL accounts and resolution of discrepancies.

Job Purpose

Accountable for performing disbursal, maintenance, completeness of property & mortgage registration in land departments, mortgage contract, disbursal & maintenance of Asset products, handling of security documents within Asset product operations function in Retail Operations by ensuring that all disbursal, maintenance and lien perfection related functions are carried out with maximum efficiency, security and control in order to safeguard the financial interests of the Bank and deliver quality service to both internal and external customers in accordance with established procedures and agreed service standards

Principal Accountabilities

• Coordinate with offshore team to ensure seamless functioning of Trade Finance Operations enabling timely completion of all transactions maintaining SLA & TAT maintaining end to end ownership.
• Interact consistently with the following teams on matters related to Trade Finance Operations:
• Institutional /Corporate Team, Business / Service Delivery Teams., Branch RMs, CAMs, Islamic Trade team and FI.
• Review and approve high value trade transaction including but not limited to Imports LC, Document checking, Back-to-Back LCs, Loans under TR, IBC.
• Coordinate with various departments of CBD - IT department, FI, FC and Treasury in achieving immediate remedy for issues related to Imports Transaction processing.
• To ensure that the Bank’s laid down policies and procedures and local/international regulations are always being adhered to
• Daily Balancing of GL Accounts - WIP, Payable & Receivable accounts. Prompt actions to be taken to resolve any differences identified.
• Exercise caution to eliminate all sorts of risks due to BPO - report and seek immediate remedy for issues if any.
• Monitor all customer complaints and take immediate remedial action in coordination with offshore team. Ensure that such complaints do not recur.
• Handle relatively complex issues and review drafts of transactions as and when referred by customer service / outsourced team.
• Back up for Unit Head & TL’s under other areas of Trade
• Handle claims and Court orders pertaining to Imports transactions
• Periodic reporting to management on any MIS relating to Imports transactions

Requirements

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Business Management, Services or related Commercial discipline
• CDCS Certification
• 8 -10 years work experience in a Bank with at least 5 years in team lead role.
• Preferable: experience of working on system enhancements/requirements
