Aldar Education are currently seeking a Teacher - Primary (Immediate Start) for Al Shohub Private School to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE.

Al Shohub Private School is a British curriculum, part of Aldar Schools, offering mixed gender primary school located in a purpose‑built educational facility, at Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. The school was founded in 1999 by Her Highness Sheikha Shaikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan to provide exceptional education in Abu Dhabi. The large majority of our students are Emiratis. Our school is deeply rooted in the values of the Emirati community, driven by the aspirations of parents, and guided by the requirements of our regulatory body, ADEK.

Responsibilities
  • To deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Teamwork and collaboration across the school community.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Develop positive relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Co‑plan engaging lessons with fellow teachers to meet curriculum requirements.
  • Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly.
  • Collaborate with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
  • Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children's development.
Specific Duties
Teaching and Learning
  • Clear understanding of the curriculum.
  • Organize classroom provision and learning resources, creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Plan, prepare, and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
  • Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
  • Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, and progress made, adjusting the environment, planning, and curriculum accordingly.
  • Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, when required.
  • Embed the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.
Assessment and Data
  • Tackle responsibility for the progress of a class.
  • Meet the requirements for assessment and recording of students' development using Target Tracker.
  • Use data from assessments to inform further planning, provision, and intervention.
  • Provide feedback to parents and carers on a student's progress at Parent‑Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behaviour Management and Duties
  • Follow the school's behaviour policy.
  • Manage classes effectively, using approaches appropriate to students' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
  • Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively within the school's behavioural policy.
  • Be a positive role model, demonstrating consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
  • Hold high expectations of behaviour, promoting self‑control and independence of all learners.
  • Carry out duties as directed and within the school's policy.
Wider Professional Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team.
  • Support the organisation and participation in school events, outings, and activities, which may take place at weekends or evenings.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding students' achievements and well‑being using school systems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • Run a weekly ECA each term.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related subject with PGCE or another teacher qualification.
Minimum Experience
  • Minimum 1‑2 years of teaching experience.
