This Primary-Secondary Education opportunity requires a qualified English teacher who can deliver engaging curriculum-based learning, maintain high academic expectations, and contribute to the development of a recently established British school. The successful candidate will plan imaginative English lessons, monitor student achievement, use assessment evidence to guide teaching, and collaborate with colleagues and families. English Teaching and Learning

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of curriculum requirements and expected learning outcomes.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons for students across the ability range.
• Use appropriate teaching resources and classroom provision to create a stimulating learning environment.
• Motivate students through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
• Develop lessons that challenge pupils while supporting individual learning needs.
• Observe and assess students in accordance with school policies and assessment expectations.
• Reflect on lesson effectiveness, classroom provision, and student progress.
• Adapt planning, resources, and teaching approaches according to evidence of student development.

Teamwork and Collaboration

Develop positive professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and other members of the school community. Work alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and contribute to consistent educational provision. Collaborate flexibly with curriculum support staff where applicable and work with parents to promote student happiness, academic achievement, and personal development. Engage with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when additional student support is required.

Assessment and Student Progress

Take responsibility for monitoring the academic progress of students and maintain appropriate assessment records using Target Tracker. Use assessment evidence to identify learning priorities and inform future planning, classroom provision, differentiation, and intervention. Provide constructive feedback that helps students understand their progress and supports continued improvement. Communicate student achievement and development to parents and carers through Parent Teacher Conferences and other appropriate meetings.

Behaviour Management and Student Development

• Follow the school 's established behaviour policy.
• Manage classes effectively using approaches appropriate to student needs.
• Inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils through purposeful classroom practice.
• Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional authority.
• Respond decisively to behavioural concerns within the school 's established framework.
• Model the attitudes, values, and behaviour expected from pupils.
• Maintain high expectations for student conduct.
• Encourage self-control, responsibility, and learner independence.
• Carry out assigned duties in accordance with school policies.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

• Participate in curriculum action groups and contribute to planning, assessment, resources, and special events associated with the team.
• Support school events, outings, extracurricular activities, and other community initiatives, including activities that may occasionally take place during evenings or weekends.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student achievement and well-being using established school systems, including CPOMS where appropriate.
• Maintain recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities and contribute positively to the broader life and ethos of Rugby School Dubai.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor 's Degree in English or a related subject with PGCE or another recognized teaching qualification.
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience.
• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
• Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check or police check.
