Job summary

Aldar Education LLC in Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Teacher - Design Technology to join our growing network of schools. The role requires delivering engaging Design Technology lessons and supporting a diverse student body.

You will plan sequences of lessons, differentiate for mixed abilities, and contribute to extracurricular activities while promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Mandatory experience working in an international school.
• Experience with EAL students.
• Professional, approachable and knowledgeable teaching style.
• Strong stakeholder communication and child-centered approach.
• Active involvement in extracurricular activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality Design Technology teaching across the year groups.
• Plan lessons, schemes of work, and assessments to meet learning outcomes.
• Differentiate to meet the needs of mixed abilities and SEN/EAL students.
• Create engaging resources, displays and learning environments.
• Support Hybrid / Distance / Face-to-Face learning as needed.

Responsibilities

Teaching and learning

• Demonstrating a clear understanding of the Curriculum for effective implementation to match learning outcomes.
• Teaching using appropriate syllabus, materials, and schemes of work to develop students’ skills in science specialisms.
• Organizing the classroom provision and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Planning, preparing, and presenting sessions that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
• To plan lessons and sequences of lessons consistently and effectively, in the long, medium and short-term, to meet pupils’ individual learning needs.
• Creating a climate for learning that is conducive to delivering outstanding practice.
• Motivating students by delivering enjoyable and creative lessons that both challenges pupils and promotes critical thinking.
• Identifying clear teaching and learning objectives and ensuring student achievement against these.
• Being reflective of the classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjusting environment, planning and curriculum to reflect this.
• Supporting SEN (POD), EAL and G&T students and ensuring that their needs are met through differentiation.
• Facilitating Hybrid / Distance Learning / Face to Face lessons.

Behaviour management and duties

• Follow the school’s established policies and procedures, e.g., behaviour, code of conduct and child safeguarding policy.
• Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
• Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively, when necessary, within the school’s established policies.
• Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour, which are expected of pupils.
• Have high expectations of good conduct, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
• To ensure a safe and secure environment that allows for appropriate social, emotional, and academic growth for all students.
• Carry out duties as directed and within the school’s established policies.

Qualifications
