The Teacher - Arabic Language will plan and deliver high-quality lessons that strengthen students ' speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and cultural understanding. The teacher will take responsibility for student progress, create an engaging classroom environment, and adapt instruction to meet the needs of learners across the ability range. The role also includes assessment, behavior management, parent communication, extracurricular participation, and collaboration with colleagues and specialist support professionals. Effective performance will help students build confidence in Arabic while supporting the wider academic and personal objectives of Al Rayana Charter School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver inspiring Arabic lessons that help students achieve strong academic outcomes.
  • Plan learning activities that align with curriculum requirements and expected student standards.
  • Work with fellow teachers to create engaging schemes, lesson sequences, resources, and assessments.
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.

  • Develop students ' Arabic communication, literacy, vocabulary, comprehension, and written expression.

  • Observe and assess students in accordance with school policies and assessment procedures.
  • Reflect on lesson effectiveness, student engagement, progress, and classroom provision.
  • Adjust planning, teaching strategies, interventions, and resources based on assessment evidence.
  • Meet with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required.
  • Embed the school 's Teacher and Learner DNA language, values, and attitudes across the curriculum.
  • Take responsibility for the attainment and progress of assigned students.
  • Record student development accurately using Target Tracker and other approved systems.
  • Use assessment data to inform future lesson planning, differentiation, provision, and intervention.
  • Provide constructive feedback that helps students understand their strengths and next steps.
  • Communicate student progress and wellbeing to parents and carers during conferences and other meetings.
  • Follow the school 's behavior policy consistently and fairly.
  • Manage classes using approaches appropriate to individual student needs.
  • Inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils while maintaining an orderly learning environment.
  • Maintain respectful relationships with students and exercise appropriate authority when necessary.
  • Model the positive values, conduct, professionalism, and attitudes expected from students.
  • Promote high standards of behavior, self-control, responsibility, and learner independence.
  • Complete school duties in accordance with assigned rotas and policies.
  • Participate in curriculum action groups supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events.

Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor 's Degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Education, or a closely related subject.
  • PGCE or another recognized teaching qualification.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Previous experience teaching students for whom English is not their first language.
  • Strong Arabic language knowledge across speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary.
  • Understanding of primary education, curriculum planning, assessment, and differentiated instruction.
  • Ability to teach students across a broad range of academic abilities and learning needs.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
  • High level of professionalism and careful attention to student wellbeing.
