Job summary

The Boring Company in Dubai, UAE, is seeking a Tunnel Engineer to support full-cycle excavation on Prufrock TBMs, embedded with the mining crew in a field-based role. You will monitor production, interpret geotechnical data, optimize TBM performance, and keep tunneling on-line, on-grade, and on schedule.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in tunnel engineering or related underground work, with knowledge of soil mechanics and ground conditioning.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil, Mining, or Geotechnical Engineering.
2+ years in tunnel engineering, underground construction or TBM operations.
Knowledge of soil mechanics and soft-ground behavior.
Willing to work underground in rotating shifts in a fast-paced production env.
Based in UAE or eligible to work in the UAE.
Experience with tunnel survey systems or SCADA is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support daily tunneling operations by tracking machine performance and advance rates.
Analyze geotechnical conditions and guide ground conditioning and excavation strategy.
Monitor ground settlement data and coordinate responses to protect structures.
Assist TBM guidance systems, surveying, and tunnel alignment monitoring.
Coordinate shift handovers and maintain production logs and as-built records.
Identify inefficiencies and work with cross-functional teams to improve performance.
Assist with ring builds, cutterhead inspections, and machine diagnostics.
Support testing, instrumentation, and quality control for lining and grouting.
Ensure field activities comply with UAE regulations and safety standards.
