Job summary

The Hour Dress in Dubai is seeking a full-time Tailor to alter and customize designer dresses, including evening gowns and bridal wear, to achieve precise fit and finish.

You will take accurate measurements, conduct fittings with clients, perform adjustments, press garments, and maintain tailoring tools while collaborating with styling and sales teams during busy periods and events.

Qualifications

Working on a consignment model, it partners with Lebanese and international designers to offer luxury fashion in an accessible rental format. The boutique is known for its focus on quality, personalized styling, sustainability, and a frequently refreshed collection. The Hour Dress aims to be a leading destination for designer dress rental and professional styling services across Lebanon and the UAE.

Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Tailor role based in Dubai. The Tailor will be responsible for altering and customizing designer dresses, including evening gowns and bridal wear, to achieve precise fit and finish. Daily tasks include taking accurate measurements, conducting fittings with clients, performing adjustments and repairs, steaming and preparing garments, and ensuring all pieces meet brand quality standards. The Tailor will collaborate closely with the styling and sales teams to deliver a smooth fitting experience and advise on feasible alterations. The role also includes maintaining tailoring tools and equipment, organizing the alteration workspace, and supporting peak business periods and special events as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong dressmaking and tailoring skills, with experience working on evening gowns, bridal, and delicate fabrics.
• Proficiency in fittings and garment adjustments, including taking accurate measurements and executing precise alterations.
• Effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and internal team members.
• Attention to detail, quality‑focused mindset, and ability to work to deadlines in a fast‑paced boutique environment.
• Previous experience in a luxury fashion, bridal, or high‑end alterations setting is highly preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle fine manual work with consistency and care.
• Basic proficiency in using industrial and domestic sewing machines, pressing equipment, and hand‑finishing techniques.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or additional languages is an advantage.
