Role Summary
The System & Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of the Banks IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and security systems. The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors to ensure high availability, performance, and security of IT services.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), and storage systems.
 - Perform system upgrades, patch management, backups, and disaster recovery (DR) testing.
 - Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; proactively address issues.
 - Implement and maintain Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
 
Network Administration
- Manage and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.
 - Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, MPLS, VLANs, wireless networks, and network security appliances.
 - Monitor network performance, availability, and optimize bandwidth utilization.
 - Implement and enforce network security controls in line with organizational policies.
 
Support & Operations
- Provide Level 1/2 support for system and network-related incidents and service requests.
 - Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation (network diagrams, system configurations, SOPs).
 - Participate in IT projects, migrations, and transformation initiatives.
 
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
 - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in system and network administration.
 - Strong knowledge of: Systems (Windows Server, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V, Backup & DR solutions); Networks (Cisco/Juniper switches, routers, firewalls - Fortinet/Palo Alto, VPNs, Load Balancers); Security (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, patching).
 - Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred) is an advantage.
 - Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Configuration).
 - Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
 - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
 - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
