Job summary

PTV Group in Dubai is seeking a System and Application Administrator to join our team and help deploy, configure and operate our software platforms across on‑premises and cloud environments.

You will work closely with project teams, customers and partners, manage infrastructure, deploy applications, monitor performance and automate recurring tasks using tools like Ansible. English fluency and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years administering and operating software systems.
• Strong Windows and Linux/Unix knowledge.
• Proficient in scripting (Shell or PowerShell).
• Experience with cloud environments and automation tools.
• English fluency and travel flexibility.
• Ability to analyze technical documentation.

• Manage infrastructure: Set up, configure, upgrade and monitor physical and cloud infrastructure, including IaaS and PaaS.
• Deploy and maintain applications: Install, configure, update and monitor PTV software across app-server and microservices architectures.
• Provide second-level support: investigate incidents, implement fixes and manage tickets.
• Automate recurring tasks: develop scripts and use tools like Ansible.
• Monitor system performance: respond to alerts and support testing and debugging.
• Contribute to project delivery: support design, deployment planning and system integrations.

Your responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure: Set up, configure, upgrade and monitor physical and cloud infrastructure, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS).
• Deploy and maintain applications: Install, configure, update and monitor PTV software across application-server and microservices architectures.
• Support live systems: Provide second-level technical support, investigate incidents, implement fixes and manage customer and partner support tickets.
• Automate recurring tasks: Develop scripts and use tools such as Ansible to improve consistency and operational efficiency.
• Monitor system performance: Respond to alerts in line with standard operating procedures and support application testing and debugging.
• Contribute to project delivery: Support project teams with solution design, deployment planning and system integrations aligned with product architecture.
• Share technical knowledge: Deliver application training to customers and partners.

What you bring

• 3–5 years of experience administering and operating software systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Proficiency in scripting, preferably shell scripting, PowerShell or Windows batch.
• Experience with cloud environments, application deployment and automation tools.
• Ability to analyse technical documentation and specifications.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of tasks through to resolution.
• Fluency in English.
• Willingness to travel.

Nice to have

• A master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline, or experience in software development.
• Knowledge of continuous deployment and deployment automation.
• Experience setting up automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational or non‑relational databases.
