Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Sustaining Engineer in the UAE to own and maintain the Busbar PLM system, ensuring production-ready designs across the product lifecycle. The role focuses on enabling DMF improvements to boost safety, quality and efficiency in a fast-paced, engineered-to-order environment.

You will provide design support for production issues, collaborate across functions, and assist NPDI while upholding design quality before production release.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of experience in product design.
• 1-3+ years of experience in 3D modeling / 2D drafting.
• Excellent communications skills – written & verbal.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability.
• Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• 1-3+ years of experience in Sheet Metal and Copper Design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Job Description

The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for owning and maintaining the Busbar Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) system, ensuring accurate, controlled, and production-ready designs throughout the full product lifecycle. This role provides immediate response to design-related production issues, and drives Design for Manufacturability improvements to support safety, quality, and efficiency. Busbar is an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) product, which means each customer order is specifically engineered. This generally leads to higher complexity and variation for departments supporting this product family. This position is ideal for individuals seeking a fast-paced environment that fosters problem-solving and continuous improvement.
