The Sustainability Engineer will help ensure that environmental commitments established during design are successfully carried through procurement, construction, auditing, and project completion. The position combines regulatory coordination, sustainability certification management, ESG support, carbon reduction planning, and continuous engagement with contractors and project stakeholders. Regular interaction with Abu Dhabi Municipality and the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi will be important for aligning project activities with local requirements. The engineer will also maintain Estidama and LEED compliance evidence, review construction submissions, monitor implementation, and provide clients with reliable sustainability performance information throughout project delivery.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor 's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a closely related discipline and demonstrate practical experience in sustainability engineering within construction or major development projects. Hands-on knowledge of Estidama and LEED requirements is essential, particularly construction-stage compliance, material submissions, audit evidence, certification tracking, and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams. Candidates should understand ESG reporting principles, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, carbon footprint management, sustainable procurement, and environmental performance planning. LEED AP, Estidama, or comparable sustainability credentials will provide a strong advantage. Experience coordinating directly with UAE authorities and managing sustainability requirements on construction projects will also be valuable. The successful professional will combine analytical ability with clear communication, disciplined documentation, and confidence working with clients, authorities, contractors, consultants, and technical disciplines.
