Job summary

Etihad Airways is seeking a Supplier & Cost Management Specialist - Technology to drive spend governance, supplier performance, and cost optimization across its Digital Technology & Innovation portfolio. You will partner with Technology, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Business stakeholders to deliver cost transparency and sustainable savings through rigorous financial control and data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in Technology Finance, IT Commercial Management, Vendor Management, Sourcing, or related disciplines.
• Proven track record managing large technology spend portfolios with cost optimization outcomes.
• Experience in large enterprise settings with technology procurement, licensing, cloud/infrastructure cost management, negotiations, and exec-level reporting.
• Strong expertise in spend management, FP&A, modelling, vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
• Advanced Excel skills including modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis, Power Query, and Pivot Tables; Power BI desirable.
• Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, analytical capability, stakeholder management, influencing, and executive communication.
• MBA/CIPS/CFA/CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end visibility and governance of technology expenditure across software, cloud, infrastructure, telecom, and services.
• Develop and maintain spend forecasts, models, dashboards, and executive reporting for budget management.
• Partner with Technology and Finance to support annual budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation.
• Build business cases and evaluations (TCO, ROI, NPV, IRR, payback) for tech investments.
• Lead commercial negotiations, renewals, and supplier management to optimize value and service.
• Establish supplier governance and conduct regular performance reviews for delivery, risk, and cost optimization.
• Identify and execute cost optimization initiatives across software licensing, cloud, infra, and services.
• Maintain a technology savings portfolio and ensure benefits realization.
• Leverage data analytics to spot spend anomalies, supplier risks, and efficiencies.
• Collaborate across Technology, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Business for data-driven investment decisions.

Synopsis

The Supplier & Cost Management Specialist - Technology is responsible for driving technology spend governance, supplier performance management, commercial evaluation, and cost optimization across the Digital Technology & Innovation portfolio. Acting as a key partner to Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Business stakeholders, the role ensures cost transparency, maximizes value from technology investments, and delivers sustainable savings through effective financial control, commercial management, and strategic supplier engagement. The position requires strong financial and commercial acumen, advanced analytical capability, and proven experience managing technology vendors and complex commercial agreements.

Accountabilities

• Drive end-to-end visibility and governance of technology expenditure across software, cloud, infrastructure, telecom, managed services, and professional services portfolios.
• Develop and maintain technology spend forecasts, financial models, dashboards, and executive reporting to support decision-making and budget management.
• Partner with Technology and Finance teams to support annual budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation models, and financial planning activities.
• Build robust business cases and commercial evaluations, including TCO, ROI, NPV, IRR, and payback analysis for technology investments and transformation programs.
• Lead commercial negotiations, contract renewals, and supplier management activities to optimize commercial value and service performance.
• Establish supplier governance frameworks and conduct regular performance reviews covering service delivery, contractual compliance, risk management, innovation opportunities, and cost optimization.
• Identify and execute technology cost optimization initiatives across software licensing, cloud services, infrastructure, managed services, and workforce expenditure.
• Maintain and track a technology savings portfolio, ensuring realization and sustainability of financial benefits.
• Leverage data analytics to identify spend anomalies, supplier risks, cost reduction opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with Technology, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Business stakeholders to support strategic sourcing initiatives and influence investment decisions through data-driven insights.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Technology Finance, IT Commercial Management, Vendor Management, Strategic Sourcing, Technology Cost Management, or related disciplines.
• Proven track record managing significant technology spend portfolios and delivering measurable cost optimization and value realization outcomes.
• Experience within large enterprise environments with exposure to technology procurement, software licensing, cloud and infrastructure cost management, supplier negotiations, and executive-level reporting.
• Strong expertise in technology spend management, financial planning and analysis, commercial modelling, vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis, Power Query, and Pivot Tables; Power BI experience is desirable.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, commercial acumen, analytical capability, stakeholder management, influencing skills, executive communication, and results orientation.
• MBA, CIPS, CFA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
