Job summary

Ghobash Group in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced piping lead for complex projects. You will supervise piping installation, fabrication, erection, testing and reinstatement activities, coordinating foremen, fitters, welders and subcontractors to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 8 years' piping construction experience, with strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, API standards and welding procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, erection, installation and testing.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3, API standards, welding procedures and inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate piping installation, fabrication, erection, testing and reinstatement activities at the project site.
• Manage piping foremen, pipe fitters, welders, helpers and subcontractor manpower.
• Monitor progress to meet approved project schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, HSE and planning to resolve site issues.
• Ensure installation per drawings, specs and welding procedures.
• Verify materials and consumables availability before starting work.
• Supervise fabrication, fit-up, welding, alignment and mechanical completion.
• Ensure proper execution of pressure testing, flushing, cleaning and reinstatement.
• Monitor welding activities to comply with WPS, PQR and project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety briefings.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe working environment.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate piping installation, fabrication, erection, testing and reinstatement activities at the project site.
• Manage piping foremen, pipe fitters, welders, helpers and subcontractor manpower to ensure efficient execution of work.
• Monitor progress of piping works and ensure completion within approved project schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, HSE, planning and other disciplines to resolve site-related issues and maintain smooth workflow.
• Ensure piping installation is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, welding procedures and quality standards.
• Verify correct materials, pipe spools, valves, fittings, supports and consumables are available before starting work.
• Supervise piping fabrication, fit-up, welding, alignment, installation of supports and mechanical completion activities.
• Ensure proper execution of piping pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, drying and reinstatement activities.
• Monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR and project welding requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE procedures, client safety requirements and permit-to-work systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety briefings to ensure safe working practices.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain an organized and safe working environment.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in piping construction activities.
