Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the UAE seeks a Project Manager to oversee projects in the O&G Power Renewables sector. Candidates should have 5-6 years of experience, particularly in rotating equipment like pumps, and preferably possess a PMP certification. The position is a fixed-term contract for 2 years with approximately 25% travel expected within the GCC. An inclusive work environment is promoted.

We are looking for a/anProject Manager to join our FEEnergy team in United Arab Emirates.

Purpose of the job

Management to completion of all aspects of assigned projects (O&G Power Renewables industry).

Your main tasks and responsibilities
  • Responsibility for monitoring and communicating all assigned project deliverables including but not limited to hardware financial and commercial outputs dispute management customer satisfaction and on time delivery.
  • Responsibility for monitoring and reporting project profitability.
  • Place intercompany purchase orders and ensure timely order launch within the manufacturing Legal entity to ensure project deliveries.
  • Place third party POs for local buyouts (mainly motors and electrical items). The PM will also be responsible for expediting deliveries and documentation for these buy-outs and free issuance of these buyouts to the factory.
  • Co-ordinating logistics with local FF will be required on some projects where the material movement will be handled by SPME.
  • Ensuring that timely client and internal kick off meetings are arranged and that all relevant project handover documentation is completed and distributed to relevant personnel.
  • Participating in monthly progress review meetings with the customer and facilitating closure of engineering issues and documentation.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships and interfaces with other key functions within Sulzer in particular with the PM of the Manufacturing LE in order to drive all aspects of Engineering Procurement and Production.
  • Responsible for reporting driving and controlling of project specific milestones and achievement to project budgets with appropriate feedback to colleagues.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers in order to reduce commercial risk and to maximise future business opportunities.
  • Provision of clearly defined responsibilities for Sulzer colleagues and client contacts.
  • Act as the Umbrella PM for the large multi-location projects implement and follow the regulation PM PU 6.521.
  • Production of reliable invoicing Gross Profit and Cash forecasts for assigned projects.
  • Management of all aspects of project finances ensuring that all funds are expedited appropriately in accordance with forecasts for invoices and payments.
  • Management/co-ordination of all aspects of assigned project in house and external related documentation in order to facilitate timely project Close Outs.
  • Management of project commercial completion in order to maximise cash flow and minimise exposure to financial penalty whilst still maintaining customer relationships
  • Acting as a single point of contact for all project communication both internally and externally.
  • Familiar with the risks and hazards within the activities and processes of the role and procedures practices and measures in place to mitigate the risks.
  • Managing post delivery issues resolving warranty issues with clients and suppliers.
To succeed in this role you will need
  • HND / Bachelors in engineering or business discipline and/or.
  • 5 -6 years of relevant experience in Project Management within related industry.
  • Experience in rotating equipment essential preferably in pumps.
  • Experience of contract negotiation in a commercial environment.
  • Supplier/Customer management experience.
  • PMP certification would be an advantage.
  • Experience in managing complex projects would be desirable.
  • General computer skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be added advantage.
  • Good Knowledge of API standardsis required.

Fix-term contract for 2 years.


Approx 25% travel is expected within GCC and to other manufacturing Sulzer legal entities.
