Job summary

Ultiwiseconsult in Dubai seeks an Operations Manager with a fashion design background to join our dynamic team. You will work closely with the creative director to support the end-to-end design process from concept to final product.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in fashion design or related field, hands-on experience in garment sampling & production, and strong drafting/illustration abilities. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus; excellent organization and teamwork are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• Experience in garment sampling & production is required.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong sketching and illustration skills; ability to translate ideas into visuals.
• Excellent understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and sewing techniques.
• Knowledge of textiles, fabrics, and trimmings, with sourcing/production understanding.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the creative director to execute innovative sample designs.
• Coordinate fabric sourcing for sampling and production.
• Create technical sketches of design concepts (a plus).
• Assist in fitting sessions and document adjustments to prototypes.
• Maintain organized records of design sketches, fabrics, and materials.
• Communicate with vendors to coordinate fabric and trim orders with quality control.
• Support sales team by greeting customers at studio or events.
• Maintain daily output records for in-house sampling and production.
• Check daily pieces and coordinate with the main pattern maker for sampling/production.
• Maintain fabric and inventory logs.

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Fashion Design associate with operations background to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in fashion design and possess excellent technical skills, creativity, and attention to detail. As a Fashion Design Assistant, you will work closely with our creative director to assist in all aspects of the design process, from concept development to final product creation.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the creative director to understand and execute innovative sample designs.
• Execute Fabric sourcing as directed and as per requirements for sampling & prouction.
• Ability to create technical sketches of design concepts is a plus.
• Assist in fitting sessions, taking detailed notes and making necessary adjustments to garment prototypes.
• Maintain organized records of design sketches, fabric samples, and other design-related materials.
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to coordinate fabric and trim orders, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
• Support sales manager as needed, by attending customers as they walk in to our studio or at trunk shows/ trade shows.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the design team and company.
• Keep record of daily output of our in house sampling & production
• Check pieces made daily and coordinate with the main pattern maker for all sampling & production.
• Maintain a fabric and inventory log

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a garment sampling & production a must.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and other design software is a plus but not necessary
• Strong sketching and illustration skills, with the ability to translate ideas into visual concepts is a plus.
• Excellent understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and sewing techniques.
• Knowledge of textiles, fabrics, and trimmings, with an understanding of sourcing and production processes.
• Creative thinking and a strong eye for detail
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
