Job summary

GEMS Founders School, Masdar City in Abu Dhabi is seeking a School Counsellor to support students’ social, emotional, behavioral and academic development through counselling services and wellbeing initiatives. This role works closely with students, staff and parents to identify needs, address challenges, and foster a culture of mental health awareness and resilience across the school community.

Must have a DCD license and be committed to the ethos and standards of excellence defined in the GEMS

Qualifications

• DCD license is required to practice.
• Ability to provide individual and group counselling.
• Commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling for students and stakeholders.
• Support crisis intervention and develop personalized support plans.
• Drive school-wide wellbeing programs, workshops and awareness campaigns.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and leadership to identify student needs.
• Maintain confidential case records in line with safeguarding guidelines.
• Contribute to policy development and a safe, inclusive school environment.
