Job summary

Egis is seeking a detail-oriented Structural Inspector to join the Dubai site supervision team. You will ensure on-site structural works comply with IFC/shop drawings, specs, and UAE regulations, while coordinating with engineers and specialists to resolve issues.

With 8+ years of UAE experience and strong QA/QC reporting, you will document findings, maintain records, and drive safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years of UAE structural site inspection experience.
• Knowledge of UAE codes, ITPs, and method statements.
• Ability to interpret IFC/shop drawings with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections for all structural works, ensuring compliance with IFC/shop drawings, specs, and method statements.
• Monitor contractor activities to meet UAE authority requirements and international standards.
• Identify deviations and issue SORs/NCRs with actionable recommendations.
• Review inspections for concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, steel, foundations, waterproofing interfaces.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and specialists to resolve structural issues.
• Verify documentation, testing, and quality records (cube tests, FDT, plate load tests, calibration).
• Ensure adherence to ITPs and QA/QC procedures with oversight.
• Provide clear guidance to contractors to resolve site issues promptly.
• Maintain organized inspection records with photos and notes.
• Communicate inspection results to stakeholders via technical reports.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Structural Inspector to join our supervision team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that all structural works on site are executed in strict accordance with approved IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and relevant UAE authority regulations. Your meticulous attention to detail, combined with your collaborative approach and transparent communication, will help maintain the highest standards of quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

• Conduct comprehensive daily site inspections for all structural works, verifying full compliance with approved IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and method statements
• Monitor contractor activities and verify that construction practices meet UAE authority requirements and international standards
• Identify deviations and non-conformities, issuing Site Observation Reports (SOR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) with clear, actionable recommendations
• Review and validate inspections related to concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, foundations, waterproofing interfaces, and other structural elements
• Coordinate effectively with the project team—including engineers, architects, and specialists—to resolve structural issues and confirm that corrective actions meet project requirements
• Verify that contractors maintain proper documentation, testing, and quality records (e.g., cube tests, FDT, plate load tests, calibration certificates)
• Ensure all works follow approved method statements, ITPs, and QA/QC procedures with consistent oversight
• Provide clear, decisive guidance to contractors to resolve site-related structural issues in a timely manner
• Maintain organized and accurate inspection records with photographs, detailed comments, and comprehensive compliance notes
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols during all inspection activities
• Utilize digital inspection platforms and QA/QC systems to document findings and track project progress
• Communicate inspection results transparently to stakeholders through well-structured technical reports

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of structural site inspection experience within the UAE construction industry (consultant experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of structural materials, workmanship, defects, and typical deterioration mechanisms
• Solid knowledge of UAE building codes, authority requirements, and relevant international standards
• Ability to interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, ITPs, and method statements with high accuracy
• Proficiency in standard inspection tools, site testing coordination, and documentation procedures
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail, particularly in identifying non-conformities and reporting deviations
• Excellent technical report writing skills and familiarity with digital inspection platforms or QA/QC systems
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
• Valid UAE driver's license and ability to travel between project sites as required
• Physically capable of accessing structural elements in constrained or elevated locations when needed
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, professional ethics, and maintaining quality standards
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment and adapt to varying site conditions and weather

Preferred:

• Site safety certifications (OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent)
• Experience preparing and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Site Observation Reports (SOR)
• Proficiency with inspection software applications and digital documentation tools
• Knowledge of concrete testing protocols, including cube tests, FDT, and plate load tests
• Photography and visual documentation skills for inspection records
• Arabic language proficiency
• Immediately available to commence employment
