Job summary

A global engineering consultancy in Dubai seeks a Structural Engineer to produce design documents, perform structural analyses, and oversee construction processes. With a requirement of a Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience, including specific work on airport or commercial buildings, the ideal candidate should also be proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT. Strong communication and coordination skills are essential, and previous GCC experience is preferred.

Job description
Structural Design
  • Produce design documents for all phases, ensuring compliance with international standards and local codes.
  • Perform structural analysis using standards such as ASCE-7, IBC, ACI-318, AISC-360, EN-BS, etc.
  • Develop structural models and drawings using AutoCAD, REVIT, and structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Robot).
  • Supervise draftsmen or sub-consultants to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
  • Coordinate with architecture, MEP, and other disciplines.
  • Assist with Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and technical evaluations.
  • Review deliverables for QA/QC, compliance, and accuracy.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations.
Construction supervision
  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors on technical matters.
  • Review and validate submittals (shop drawings, materials, method statements, etc.).
  • Support claim management and contractual compliance.
  • Monitor construction quality, inspect work progress, and ensure specification compliance.
  • Attend site meetings and manage on-site teams and inspectors.
  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
  • Ensure project handover is aligned with performance and contract requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of structural design experience, including 5 years on airport or commercial building projects.
  • Membership in a recognized engineering society is mandatory.
  • Local engineering authority licenses/certifications are required (e.g., G+12 or equivalent, if applicable).
  • Experience with international codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT/BIM, and structural analysis software.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical principles.
  • Excellent command of MS Office and document authoring tools.
  • Previous GCC experience is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Willingness for international mobility.
