Group Strategy Support
The Group Strategy team manages the formulation, direction, and delivery of FAB 's long-term plans. The Strategy Analyst will support this mandate by conducting internal and external analysis, developing market and competitor intelligence, and contributing to strategic workstreams under the guidance of senior colleagues. For administrative purposes, the role reports to the VP - Business Insights and Strategy while collaborating broadly with members of the Group Strategy function.
Research and Strategic Analysis
- Conduct structured research covering banking, macroeconomic, regulatory, and competitive developments.
- Analyse financial, economic, and market data to identify trends, implications, and opportunities relevant to FAB 's strategic priorities.
- Compile market and competitor intelligence to support strategy development.
- Develop an understanding of the external environments in which FAB operates across its geographic markets.
- Build knowledge of the Bank 's internal environment to place strategic questions and business issues in the appropriate context.
- Monitor UAE and global banking developments and summarize relevant findings for the strategy team.
- Work with quantitative and qualitative information published by financial institutions, market intelligence firms, government entities, and supranational bodies.
- Support senior colleagues in developing fact-based perspectives and strategic recommendations.
Financial Modelling and Business Cases
- Build and maintain Excel-based models for quantitative analysis.
- Support scenario evaluation and business case development.
- Analyse financial statements, performance indicators, economic information, and market data.
- Apply knowledge of banking financials, economics, and modelling when interpreting data.
- Validate assumptions and maintain analytical rigor across assigned workstreams.
- Enhance analytical tools and templates to improve the efficiency and quality of strategy deliverables.
Presentations and Management Insights
The Strategy Analyst will translate complex analysis into clear and structured materials that can support internal discussions and decision‑making.
- Prepare high-quality presentations for senior members of the Group Strategy team.
- Present analytical findings and financial information in a clear and impactful visual format.
- Synthesize internal and external information into concise viewpoints and discussion materials.
- Develop draft slides and supporting analysis within agreed timelines.
- Contribute analytical perspectives during brainstorming and problem‑solving sessions.
Strategic Project Coordination
- Support assigned strategic workstreams by coordinating inputs and tracking progress.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the Bank to gather information and validate assumptions.
- Contribute to cross‑functional projects without assuming final decision‑making responsibility.
- Independently manage routine activities such as data collection, model updates, and draft presentation preparation.
- Work within project scopes and analytical methodologies established by senior team members.
- Escalate unclear assumptions, analytical risks, or complex issues for senior review.
- Use available internal data, systems, templates, technology, and existing Group Strategy knowledge to support project delivery.
Analytical and Professional Capabilities
The role requires strong logical reasoning and structured problem-solving skills, supported by a sound academic foundation in finance, economics, and banking. The successful candidate should be comfortable operating in an environment where strategic priorities and analytical assignments can vary considerably. The position also requires the interpersonal ability to coordinate effectively across different areas of the Bank and influence stakeholders without formal authority. Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor 's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline from a Top Tier University.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of non-banking experience.
- Ability to analyse financial statements, performance metrics, and market data.
- Proficiency in financial analysis.
- Proficiency with presentation and visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of financial, economic, and quantitative analysis.
