Qualifications

• Must have steel industry experience.
• Education includes primary/secondary schooling and industrial training.
• Certified welder preferred; safety courses beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Understand dimensions for sections and sheet piles to verify welding/grinding quality.
• Rectify materials, segregate prime/ scrap, and stack/strap per requirements.
• Inform supervisor and head of issues during rectification.
• Coordinate with outsourced contractors to resolve problems.
• Wear PPE and prepare tools/equipment including fire extinguisher; ensure work area is safe.
• Sweep and handle grinding to remove sharp edges and report defects.
• Assist in cutting, sampling, and disposal with cranes/forklifts when required.
• Support maintenance in Mill/Finishing areas during breakdowns involving welding, cutting, or cleaning.
• Follow safety instructions and work procedures at all times.
