Job summary

Abu Dhabi Airports Group is seeking a Station Officer to lead Airport Emergency Services, directing the Rescue and Firefighting Service and incident command during emergencies at Abu Dhabi Airports.

You will ensure readiness of firefighting resources, supervise staff, coordinate with management and airlines, and drive training and compliance with regulatory standards to safeguard passengers and operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide Incident Command during emergency situations, making critical decisions to manage incidents.
• Maintain the maintenance program for vehicles and fire equipment across Abu Dhabi Airports.
• Monitor and evaluate team performance through appraisals, coaching, and training needs.
• Lead the watch and supervise readiness for aircraft, facilities and surrounding areas.
• Ensure readiness of workforce, vehicles, equipment and facilities for airport category standards.
• Plan and approve annual leave schedules and manage staffing levels.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to develop emergency response plans and protocols.
• Conduct drills and exercises to test readiness and procedures.
• Liaise with airport management, airlines and stakeholders for coordinated safety.
• Oversee training and records for Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS).
• Report risks and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Job description

The Station Officer holds a pivotal leadership position within Airport Emergency Services. The role is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Airport Rescue and Firefighting Service, ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff, and airport infrastructure. The Station Officer provides incident command during emergencies and ensures operational readiness of all firefighting resources and personnel at Abu Dhabi Airports.

Responsibilities

• Provide Incident Command during emergency situations, making critical decisions to effectively manage and mitigate incidents.
• Ensure the maintenance program for vehicles and fire equipment is followed across Abu Dhabi Airports, ensuring fire trucks and other equipment are functional, compliant with standards, and ready for emergencies.
• Continually monitor and evaluate individual and team performance through appraisals, feedback, coaching, training needs identification, and managing underperformance.
• Lead and manage the watch, ensuring preparedness for all emergency situations involving aircraft, airport facilities, and surrounding areas.
• Maintain operational readiness of workforce, firefighting vehicles, equipment, and facilities to ensure the required airport category is always maintained.
• Plan and approve annual leave schedules and manage absences to ensure adequate staffing in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders to develop emergency response plans and establish protocols for various incident scenarios.
• Conduct regular drills and exercises to maintain high readiness levels and assess effectiveness of emergency procedures.
• Liaise with airport management, airlines, and key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to airport safety and security.
• Oversee training and professional development of Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS) personnel, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining accurate records.
• Ensure that risks and hazards are properly reported and corrective actions are implemented.
