Job summary

AI71 is seeking a Lead/Staff Full-Stack Engineer to set technical direction across frontend and backend for a critical platform area. You will own multiple services, drive architecture decisions, and mentor engineers across teams while delivering both SaaS and air-gapped on-prem solutions.

The role requires 10+ years of full-stack experience with architectural ownership, deep Python and React proficiency, and a track record of leading major technical initiatives end-to-end.

• Partner with product and design on multi-quarter technical and UX strategy.
• Operate as a tech lead for major full-stack projects (no people management).

Full-stack engineering at AI71 means building both the APIs and the interfaces that have to work in the cloud and behind a firewall, with bilingual UI support on one side and disconnected, air-gapped delivery on the other.

The Role:

As a Lead / Staff Full-Stack Engineer you set technical direction across both the frontend and backend of a critical platform area. You own multiple services and the UI surfaces built on top of them, lead architecture decisions spanning the full stack, mentor engineers across teams, and drive engineering excellence. You are a force multiplier.

What You'll Do:

• Define the architecture for a critical platform area, spanning API / service design and the frontend architecture that consumes it.
• Lead major technical decisions: framework choices, data models, deployment patterns, and design system direction.
• Mentor senior engineers across frontend and backend disciplines; raise the engineering bar across multiple teams.
• Drive cross-team initiatives that improve reliability, security, developer velocity, and UI quality.
• Partner with product and design on multi-quarter technical and UX strategy.
• Operate as a tech lead for major full-stack projects (without people management responsibility).
• Ensure platform and UI decisions support both SaaS and on-prem operating models.

What You'll Bring:

• 10+ years of full-stack engineering with history of architectural ownership across frontend and backend.
• Strong system design at the architecture level in your primary discipline (backend: distributed systems, API architecture; or frontend: component and rendering architecture at scale), with credible fluency across the other.
• Deep proficiency in Python and React.
• Mentorship record in your primary discipline, with the credibility to review and guide work on the other side of the stack.
• Track record of leading major technical initiatives end-to-end.
• Deep comfort with platforms that run in both managed SaaS and on-premises / disconnected environments.
• On-prem / air-gap delivery experience at the architecture level.
• Design system leadership alongside backend architecture ownership.
• Leading technical initiatives that affect multiple teams across disciplines.
• Experience scaling engineering orgs that combine frontend and backend disciplines.
