Job description
Job Purpose

To produce high quality and detail-oriented professional responsible for planning, project design and overseeing all deliverables of the design phases from concept through to technical design.

Key Accountabilities
  • To manage day-to-day design activities ranging of multiple projects including hospitality, offices, residential, retail, mixed use – etc.
  • To work in close alignment with Design Manager and project team to develop design concepts and vision for interior spaces, considering client preferences and functional requirements.
  • To develop floor plans and layouts that maximize the use of available space while ensuring functionality and flow including putting together mood boards, material boards, concept presentations and design briefs.
  • To be able to select appropriate materials, finishes and furnishings to prepare moodboards and sample boards considering factors such as durability, sustainability and budget constraints.
  • To prepare preliminary sketches and review the projects before presenting to management.
  • To review and approve technical drawings, design specifications, cost estimates and construction recommendations.
  • To train and guide suppliers, building contractors, subcontractors to meet the adequate quality on projects, ensuring that dimensions, materials and finishes are in line with approved design concept during on‑site inspections.
  • To ensure efficient time management, project planning, coordination of resources and follow up on projects and initiatives.
  • Additional responsibilities with Management:
    • To communicate and keep the management updated on the daily functioning of the project including any correspondences that comes from any parties involved in the project.
    • Checkpoints, drawings and quantities for accuracy and any discrepancies. If any discrepancies in calculations – the same must be reported to the management immediately.
    • Attending client / management meetings and update on drawings, material finishes - etc.
    • The candidate must also be able to document design changes, modifications and revisions.
    • To collaborate with project managers, engineers and other drafters to ensure the accuracy of drawings. Also scheduling any third party vendor site visits for quotations, site survey - etc.
    • Site visits | attending meetings.
    • To work towards strict deadlines and deliverables.
    • All emails to clients and building management are to be cross verified with the management before sending it out. All emails must have at least one colleague cc had in it.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • University Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented.
  • Candidate should possess effective communication and time management skills in order to be able to achieve strict deadlines and deliverables.
