Job summary

Dar is seeking a Senior Façade Engineer to lead complex façade projects in the UAE. You will oversee on-site installation, coordinate with main contractor and façade subcontractors, and ensure drawings, calculations, and tests meet project requirements.

The role requires 12+ years in façade engineering, strong experience in shop drawings, material submittals, and performance testing, with a focus on quality and compliance across international standards.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of façade engineering with multi-project exposure.
• Experience in shop drawings and technical submittal review, including structural calcs and thermal analysis.
• Experience in material submittals review and performance testing.
• Execution and site supervision, controlling façade installation quality.
• Coordination with main contractor and façade subcontractors.

• Review and validate façade concept designs for performance, constructability, cost efficiency, and compliance.
• Lead detailed engineering of façade systems including:
• Unitized curtain wall systems
• Stick curtain wall systems
• Structural glazing
• Skylights and atriums

• Fixings and anchors
• Insulation materials
• Fire stopping materials
• Evaluate supplier certifications and warranties.
• Ensure long-term durability, corrosion resistance, and UV performance suitable for project climate.
• Performance Testing & Mock-Ups
• Lead façade mock-up strategy including:
• Visual mock-ups
• Performance mock-ups
• Supervise laboratory testing (if required):
• Air infiltration
• Water penetration (static & dynamic)
• Structural performance under wind pressure
• Seismic simulation
• Thermal performance
• Witness and approve on-site testing.
• Review and resolve test failures with root cause analysis and corrective action plans.

• Glass replacement procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Civil, or Structural Engineering
• 12+ years of experience in façade engineering with multi-project exposure
• Experience in Shop drawing and technical submittal review (including structural calculations, thermal analysis, method statements), Material submittals review (aluminum profiles, glass, gasket, sealant, insulation, fixing accessories), performance testing, mockups (visual mock ups, performance mock ups, laboratory testing, site testing, etc.).
• Must have experience in execution and site supervision, and control over quality of façade installation (monitor installation, alignments, anchoring/fixing, glazing procedures, etc.).
• Experience in coordination with Main Contractor and Facade sub-contractor
