Job summary

Penspen is urgently looking for a Sr. Engineer Onshore Construction (Mechanical) to support offshore PMC projects in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on onshore fabrication, module assembly, pre-commissioning, and active coordination with engineering, procurement, and offshore teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 15–18+ years in offshore construction, including topsides or subsea projects. PMC/EPC background and ADNOC Offshore experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 15–18+ years in mechanical/offshore construction.
• Experience with PMC/EPC environments.
• ADNOC Offshore experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports onshore fabrication, module assembly, pre-commissioning, and construction activities related to offshore facilities.
• Review and support construction execution plans, work packs, method statements, and procedures.
• Coordinate mechanical construction activities during fabrication, assembly, testing, and pre-commissioning phases.
• Ensure activities are executed per drawings, specs, and project requirements.
• Monitor progress and identify schedule risks and mitigation measures.
• Review mechanical design deliverables for constructability and installation feasibility.
• Provide technical support for mechanical installation and testing activities.
• Promote and enforce project HSE policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems.
• Support Mechanical Completion (MC) and handover activities.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, fabrication yards, commissioning, and client reps.
• Participate in progress meetings and construction reviews.
• Prepare technical reports and progress updates.

Qualification Required

• The candidates should have Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Supports for onshore fabrication, module assembly, pre-commissioning, and construction activities related to offshore oil & gas facilities. The role ensures that all mechanical works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, quality requirements, and project schedules.
• Review and support construction execution plans, work packs, method statements, and construction procedures.
• Coordinate mechanical construction activities during fabrication, assembly, testing, and pre-commissioning phases
• Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor construction progress and identify potential schedule risks and mitigation measures.
• Review mechanical design deliverables for constructability and installation feasibility
• Provide technical support for Static equipment installation, Rotating equipment installation and alignment, Piping fabrication and erection, Structural interfaces, Pressure testing activities and Mechanical completion activities
• Promote and enforce project HSE policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with project Quality Management Systems
• Support Mechanical Completion (MC) and system handover activities.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, fabrication yards, commissioning teams, and client representatives.

Experience Required

• Minimum 15 to 18+ years of experience, with at least 5 years significant in offshore project.
• Proven experience in offshore platform, topsides or subsea-related projects
• Experience supporting fabrication yard and module construction activities.
• Strong knowledge of offshore construction methods, mechanical systems, and safety standards.
• Preferred experience from PMC/EPC Background.
• Previous ADNOC Offshore Experience is advantage.

Requirements:
