Job summary

SMC International Placement is seeking a Senior/Experienced engineer for a full-time role in the United Arab Emirates. The position involves planning, coordinating, and supervising engineering and construction activities across multiple disciplines, with close collaboration among engineering, construction, commissioning, QA/QC, HSE, and client teams.

The candidate will review drawings, specifications, and method statements, ensuring adherence to standards and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise engineering and construction activities within the assigned discipline.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, QA/QC, HSE, and client teams.
• Ensure all work is executed per approved drawings, project specs, and standards.
• Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, and equipment requirements.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering support to site teams.
• Review and approve technical documents, submittals, inspection requests, and test procedures.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Ensure proper installation, testing, and commissioning of discipline systems.
• Monitor quality and ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements.
• Ensure activities comply with HSE policies and safe work practices.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain project documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors and monitor their performance.
• Participate in technical, progress, and client coordination meetings.
• Support troubleshooting, punch-list clearance, system completion, and final handover.

Job description

Salary: AED 20,000 23,000 per month

• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and maintain project documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors and monitor their performance.
• Participate in technical meetings, progress meetings, and client coordination meetings.
• Support troubleshooting, punch-list clearance, system completion, and final handover.
• Ensure completion of as-built drawings, test records, certificates, and other handover documentation.

Discipline-specific focus:

• Electrical: Power distribution, LV/MV systems, cables, transformers, switchgear, lighting, earthing, and testing.
• Instrumentation: Instrument installation, calibration, control systems, loop checking, and commissioning.
• Completions: System/subsystem completion, inspection, punch-list management, pre-commissioning, and handover.
• Telecom: Telecom networks, fiber optics, communication systems, CCTV, access control, PAGA, and related testing/commissioning.
