Job summary

A healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to monitor patient progress, conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and work closely with children. The ideal candidate has a BSc in Speech-Language pathology, DOH license, and at least 2 years of experience. Strong communication skills and experience in acute care are required. This is a full-time position with immediate availability preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Strong Communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment accordingly.
  • Evaluate hearing and speech/language test results to diagnose and plan treatment.
  • Administer hearing or speech/language evaluations tests to patients.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on assessments.
  • Teach clients to control or strengthen tongue, jaw, face muscles, and breathing mechanisms.
  • Refer clients to additional medical or educational services as needed.

BSc in Speech-Language pathology / Speech and language therapy with DOH license
Job description

Monitor patients progress and adjust treatment accordingly.

Evaluate hearing and speech / language test result and medical or background information to diagnose and plan treatment for speech language fluency voice and swallowing disorder

Administer hearing or speech / language evaluations tests or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairments using written and oral tests and special instruments.

Record information on the initial evaluation treatment progress and discharge of clients.

Develop and implement treatment plans for problems such as stuttering delayed language swallowing disorder and inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems based on own assessments and recommendations of physicians psychologist and social workers.

Teach clients to control or strengthen tongue jaw face muscles and breathing mechanisms.

Develop speech exercise programs to reduce disabilities.

Design develop and employ alternative diagnostic or communication devices and strategies.

Refer clients to additional medical or educational services if needed
