Job description

Overview

The Specification Manager is responsible for directing and maximizing specification sales growth for Rain Bird in United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman. He/she is required to follow-up and deliver sales growth through winning projects and specification market share. Specification includes private specifications written by Public Agencies, Landscape Architects, Irrigation Designers and Consultants.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure products and solutions are qualified at customer level and driven through the specification cycle.
  • Deliver Presentations and Related Documents to decision makers in Public Agencies, Irrigation Consultants, Landscape Architects and Corporate Account customers.
  • Establish Rain Bird brand as the primary product specified for ongoing maintenance and on new projects in the region.
  • Conduct products demonstrations and become the products technical expert for Rain Bird.
  • Develop and implement sales programs and strategies designed to significantly grow sales through irrigation consultants, landscape architects and Corporate Accounts.
  • Ensure 25%-30% from sales comes from the new developed product range.
  • Make Rain Bird the most visible manufacturer to all agencies in the region.
  • Participation in local / regional Events and keep close contacts with all organizations for the purpose of networking and generating opportunities to sell Rain Bird products.
  • Be the technical expert on Irrigation specifications and be a resource to the Area Managers and Public Agency Accounts.
  • Foster collaboration across markets to improve specification results while keeping Projects Trackers updated.
  • Collaborate with SBU’s Marketing staff to improve specification results with current products by defining and executing programs to deliver these results.
  • Obtain market information regarding competitor’s technologies and solutions, potential projects, and other sales related issues.
  • This position requires approximately 50+% overnight travel.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree (BA, B.Sc., or similar) in Agricultural/Irrigation Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Fluent in both Arabic and English (written & verbal).
  • 10+ work experience in irrigation technical, sales management, specification, or marketing.
  • Must have a proven market knowledge within the region, with a clear grasp of key stakeholders such as consultants, municipalities, landscape architects, and contractors
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and supervision skills.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working in an international organization.
  • The ability to travel at least 50% of the time in territory including overnight trips.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or other postgraduate degree
  • Strong technical background in the irrigation field, including advanced knowledge of Rain Bird, competitors’ products, and irrigation design.
  • Solid understanding of commercial irrigation standards, with hands-on experience in specifying and supporting large-scale irrigation projects.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, BOQs, specifications
